Financial aid is awarded to a student based on the financial need of his/her family. It may come from government, university and sometimes private sources. Financial aid for international students is difficult to come by.    Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit or a special talent (including athletics and the arts). They may come from university or private sources.

For international students, some colleges attach scholarships to financial need.

IMPORTANT NOTE
Financing your education can be a daunting task. The price tag seems so expensive. Talk to your parents. Learn how much they can afford. Talk to the college reps about what individual colleges can do to help. Have your parents talk to their companies as many of them keep private scholarships for children of employees.  Watch deadlines. If you need financial aid, ask.
